Seeing With My Eyes Closed no 5

Part of my ongoing 'Seeing With My Eyes Closed' series, this oil painting continues my exploration of perception and consciousness through colour and abstraction.
Like the other works in this series, it grew out of my collaboration with prof. Anil Seth and the neuroscience lab at the Sussex Centre for Consciousness Science and my participation in a number of supervised stroboscopic light sessions in the lab. The special strobe light was pointed at my face and programmed for a specific frequence, and whilst I had my eyes closed it evoked incredibly colourful and fast paced patterns and colour fields. The paintings are not illustrations of neuroscience, but my own personal artistic responses to these experiences.
It's currently installed at an architectural practice in Pagrati, Athens. It's available for acquisition. International shipping is possible.
