The Scent of Greek Summer

This installation consists of 21 oil paintings -  each 24 x 18cm. They were designed to be shown at 'Fikos, the bar'. Ilias, the owner, describes it as 'a bar for the neighbourhood' - located near Plateia Amerikis right opposite my studio in Athens. This series translates the (my) feeling or psychology of Greek summers. There's something unique about the 'experience' of a Greek summer which I feel should have its own word.... it's slow paced, scents of pine and jasmine in the air, a cold frappe and a nice Greek salad, the sound of the sea, salty skin, warm and easy going evenings with friends at a neighbourhood bar. I translated this Greek summer nostalgia in these 21 paintings that were on show during the summer ('25) at 'Fikos, the bar'. They are now available from the studio and can be posted internationally.
